- Heart-warming picture book debut
- About a boy who can’t forget his grandfather
- The sensitive pencil-illustrations bring the forest and Neal’s imagination to life

Go on adventure with Neal in a world full of surprises, with a very special encounter.

Neal has a special, secret treehouse. A treehouse in which he no longer is alone. Grandpa is always there, on that hard chair, never on the soft couch. Together they make the best campfires in the forest. ‘You can always come here if it becomes too quiet or if you miss somebody,’ grandpa whispers.

One night I was in my brother’s treehouse in the forest behind our house. This place has always been a great source of inspiration for me. I wanted to make a story about a boy with an immense amount of imagination and a great treehouse. But the boy was only shining wordlessly on paper. I asked Robbe if he wanted to give the story shape. We named the imaginative boy Neal. The story is about the loss of a loved one, in which nature plays an important role in the process of grief.’ (Charlotte Severeyns)
